Andy Zhu
PRINCIPAL, CO-FOUNDER
Andy Zhu is the Co-Founder and Principal of MFX Ventures, a real estate platform focused on acquiring, structuring, and financing complex housing deals across the United States. At MFX, Andy leads investment strategy and development partnerships, working across workforce, mixed-income, and affordable housing transactions.
His work spans the full lifecycle of a deal, from sourcing and underwriting through execution. He focuses on advancing opportunities through aligned partnerships, capital strategy, and deal structuring. He has been involved in projects across multifamily, build-to-rent, mixed-use, and hospitality, with experience navigating public-private partnerships and complex development environments.
Prior to co-founding MFX Ventures, Andy served as Director of Business Development and Investment Analysis at Pentagon Holdings, where he underwrote over $1.5 billion in potential development and acquisition opportunities and led capital markets efforts across construction, acquisition, and corporate financing.
Andy is also a widely recognized voice in real estate and housing, with an audience of over 100,000 across digital platforms. He has been a featured speaker at national industry conferences including IMN, the National Rental Home Council, and other institutional real estate forums.
He holds degrees in Political Science and Medicine, Health, and Society from Vanderbilt University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Based in Nashville, Andy remains actively engaged in local and national housing initiatives, including leadership roles within the Urban Land Institute.

Joseph Davidson
PRINCIPAL, CO-FOUNDER
Joseph Davidson is the Co-Founder and Principal of MFX Ventures, where he leads underwriting, financial strategy, and capital structuring across the firm’s development and advisory platform.
Joseph plays a central role in translating complex development concepts into executable deals. He oversees financial modeling, capital stack design, and transaction structuring for projects spanning affordable housing, mixed-income communities, and institutional-quality residential developments. He has underwritten over $1.5 billion in prospective transactions and brings a deep understanding of how to move projects from early feasibility through financing and into execution.
In addition to his work at MFX, Joseph serves as Director of Investment Research for Urban Campus & Core, an impact-focused development firm centered on community partnerships and expanding access to opportunity through real estate. Prior to co-founding MFX Ventures, he held roles in development feasibility and investment analysis with Hamilton Development and Lincoln Property Company.
Joseph is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the Congress for the New Urbanism, and remains actively engaged in conversations around housing, development, and the built environment. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University.
Originally from the Arkansas mountains, Joseph developed an early appreciation for walkable communities and access to green space, which continues to inform his work in real estate. Having experienced housing instability during his youth, he is deeply committed to the preservation and expansion of affordable housing and actively supports projects that create long-term access to stable, high-quality homes.
Outside of work, Joseph is a classically trained guitarist and an active member of D.C.’s Latin dance community.
